We are looking for a forward-thinking Senior Energy Technology Engineer II to join our team, driving our growth in talent acquisition, client relationships, and critical power system studies.
Position Overview: Reporting to the Director of Energy Technology, you will expand our service portfolio, lead advanced power systems studies—including transmission planning and generation interconnection assessments—and engage with clients across major RTO/ISO markets such as PJM, MISO, SPP, ERCOT, and TVA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and conduct advanced power systems studies including reliability analysis and generation interconnection assessments.
- Execute high-quality power systems modeling and validation.
- Develop and cultivate new client relationships within the power and energy sectors.
- Provide expert technical guidance to ensure accuracy and reliability in deliverables.
- Support business growth by identifying emerging market opportunities and leading strategic initiatives.
- Mentor team members and standardize best practices across projects.
- Promote automation and innovation in power system analysis and planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, focusing on transmission planning and generation interconnection studies.
- Proven experience with power system simulation and modeling tools (e.g., PSSE, TARA, PSLF, PowerWorld).
- Strong track record in building client relationships within the electric utility sector.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with experience managing high-performing teams.
- Ability to lead strategic initiatives in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Willingness to travel nationwide up to 25% for client engagements and business development activities.
Nice to Have Qualifications:
- Experience in dynamic transient stability and Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) studies.
- Familiarity with simulation tools such as PSSE, PSCAD, and EMTP.
- Knowledge of Inverter-Based Resource (IBR) modeling and study principles.
