TELUS International is seeking participants in pairs for a conversational audio data collection project. The task can be completed remotely from the comfort of your own home.
The objective is to gather around 50 minutes of unscripted conversational audio between each pair. The participating pair will record 5 different conversations (around 10 minutes each) with varied tones and animated delivery. Topics need to vary and cover a range of natural, informal subjects (e.g., hobbies, pets, travel, sports). Some topics that are a no-go include discussions about medical or health conditions or the financial situation of yourself or others.
Both participants will join a Zoom call along with a TELUS International moderator who will support the task. Please note that each participant can only complete the project once.
Estimated time to complete the task: 1.5 - 2 hours, including setup time and breaks between conversations for selecting topics.
Expected project duration: October to mid-November.
Requirements:
- 18+ years of age
- Located in the UK
- Native English speaker (any UK regional accent)
- Smartphone, laptop or desktop computer to perform the task
- Stable internet connection for the duration of the task
- Quiet indoor setting
- Basic audio quality standards must be met (no studio setup required)
- Both participants need to apply separately
Payment:
- 35 USD per participant for the whole task. (Both participants will be paid separately)
- This is an independent contractor opportunity.
